WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE FOR US?
Jesus' death was a purposeful "undoing" of the Fall of Man, in which He served as the ideal, blameless Lamb to settle the debt of death that we were unable to pay. Jesus methodically atoned for every facet of human failure by relating the particulars of the Crucifixion to the events in Eden, such as donning the crown of thorns to break the curse of the ground and being nailed through the hands that once grabbed for forbidden fruit. This "Great Exchange" demonstrated that God's love was prepared to bear the cross in order to permanently mend our strained relationship with Him by replacing our shame with His righteousness.
